Xiaomi has already conquered many places in the world with its relatively inexpensive devices, but is often still seen as a budget player. Not surprising, because the most successful Xiaomi smartphones are not the most expensive variants, especially in India. With a new sub-brand name Poco this has to change.
Under the guidance of former Google employee Jai Mani, Poco has to grow up in India and then other parts of the world. On Twitter, Poco shared a manifesto of the new sub-brand, emphasizing that the project was born because of the need to make innovative devices that ‘actually do’.
If we look at the specs of the recently leaked Pocophone F1, we see that it is not just a brand. There is a Snapdragon 845 chipset, a 4000 mAh battery, headphone input, USB-C and a 20 megapixel front camera with face recognition.
The Pocophone seems to be made by these specs to compete with OnePlus, or the BBK Electronics prize-winning brand. For the price you do not have to leave the Pocophone F1 in any case: for the entry-level model, you will lose $ 480 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Whether Poco will come our way in the short term, we do not dare to say with certainty.
